Process

Opacity animated text:

To start off I have animated a basic typography based logo into the sequence. This was done by randomizing speed into the advanced settings and adding keyframes on opacity from a scale of 0-100. To give this animation a visible shape, I duplicated the text layer and changed the settings to no fill and enabled the stroke. The rest of the settings were kept the same on both the layers. 

 

Motion tracking:

 

The text “Go live” appears with opacity animation and moves alongside the race car with the aid of motion tracking. For this i chose the footage layer and enabled motion track for it. The tracker was set to the car’s body and about 120 frames were selected, after the auto trace was done I created a null object layer and edited the track target as the null layer. Then I created a text layer and gave it the roads perspective and parented/linked the layer with the null object layer so that every transformation applied to the null object is copied to the text layer. I made a few necessary changes and then was able to create a smooth motion track.

Rotoscoping:

 

For the freeze frame edit, I used the rotobrush to select and mask the subject then freezed the frame and added a blur effect to the bg layer. Then I added keyframes to scale the subject so it looks separate from the background. 

 

3D camera tracking:

 

The text “Stray kids” that appear on the shutter alongside the wall is placed with the aid of 3D camera tracking. For this I used the 3D camera tracking function. After the auto trace was done, I found the target point where the text could be placed and then created a solid and camera layer in the sequence by right clicking on the target area. Then I added the text on this layer and made necessary changes and tweaking to the x and y points and gave it the required perspective with power pin effect in the distort category on the effects tab. Opacity animation was added to the text to give it the final touch.

 

 

Handwritten logo:

 

For this I traced the stary kids logo with the aid of pen tool and made strokes each on a separate layer, then I animated them as trip paths and added key frames to the start and end functions. I changed the start and end values from 0-100 and vice versa until the whole text was done. Then I easily eased the keyframes and tweaked the graph a bit so that it looks smooth. For the glow I added the glow effect from the effects tab and made a blink by adding necessary keyframes to opacity.
